Freelensing August.  Last month was filled with travel, never ending sunshine and the outdoors, by far my favorite combination of anything. Wisconsin may seem uneventful to some, but it is such beautiful country. We spent hours exploring the Bayfield county area, boating, hiking, cliff jumping, fishing, and ferry tripping to the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. Anyone looking to camp somewhere adventurous, this is full of daytime excursions and so worth the drive. Below are images I took freelensed in the Chequamegon National Forest at Lake Owen with the kids, one of the most pristine and beautiful crystal clear waters that I’ve laid eyes on. Great rock collecting and swimming was had here.

For my dear friend Marcela, whose family is pure fun, vibrant and so full of love for each other. To be asked to shoot this adoption session was just really special, there’s no other way to describe it.

There was no denying their affection as being authentic and true, and *gasp…not just for the camera! This love is real people. Not in any way, a show.

They are in the adoption process and asked me to create images for the album they present to expectant mothers seeking families for their soon born babies. I honestly couldn’t imagine a more perfect family to receive such a beautiful gift! To watch them all come together and be a part of each step, each class, all of their appointments, hopes and dreams of adopting is so incredibly awesome to witness and I felt so honored to be a part of it. I take my sessions to heart, seeking connection, affection, and LOVE….and this family’s bond was just that, without even having to ask.

I love this family with all of my heart, and I hope this work shows it. Especially to their prospective adopting parents, you couldn’t choose a more perfect family if you tried.

Much love to the ‘R’ family for your trust in this very special request.

A perfect day at Long Beach, Indiana, spent with friends.

I owe them for bringing me out of a mini rut these past few weeks, I’m hoping it lasts!

Our day consisted of hazy sunshine, rock collecting, pizza and ice cream, blueberries, trampoline,

hammock swing, tasty beverages, pancakes and kids that loved having their photo taken. Total heaven!

All in all it was a swell time and we loved every second, you all went out of your way.

All of us got to play, including me.

Big thanks to the Mountain Manny and the Cronins,

we love you!

XOXO

Our first week of summer vacation

Cinema: check

Organic strawberry farm: check

Lunch at Treehouse: check

Tornado watch: check

I’m excited for what each day brings and memories made with my little adventurers.  I think its a tragedy my kids were in school until the 20th and I’m really looking forward to making each day count until they go back! Little Aubrie turned 6 and I can’t believe how the last 5 years have seemed like an instant.

Its great to have such sidekicks in life in this season of summer, grateful for each day and making the most of it.

follow our short seasons circle and head over to see what Beth Urban has in store for June!
